Immunophenotyping: Immunophenotyping was performed on a fresh peripheral blood specimen. In the extended lymphoblastoid gate, a population of immature myelocytoid cells comprising 85% of all cells was noted with the following phenotype: CD34-, CD33+, CD13-/low, HLA-DR-, CD11b+/-, CD14-, CD45+, CD36low, CD117-, CD19-, and CD10-.
Comment on this image collection: These findings are consistent with an acute myeloid leukemia without HLA-DR expression, which can be associated with a translocation of genes 15 and 17. It is recommended that a correlation with cytogenetics be performed.
