Comment on this image collection: Bone marrow analysis indicated a clearly hypercellular marrow with an infiltrate of monocytic blast cells. These blasts are either of a small size, about 10 micrometers, or a larger size of about 15-20 micrometers. The blasts contain a recessed nucleus and no Auer rods are seen. The hematopathology results are indicative of an acute myeloid leukemia of the M5 subtype with monocytoid blasts
