Cytogenetics: Cytogentics were ordered on a peripheral blood and a bone marrow specimen. However, there were no evaluable mitoses obtained after 24 hour and 48 hours of culture. Therefore there are no cytogenetic findings.
Diagnosis: Immunophenotyping results are suggestive of an acute myeloid leukemia with moncytic differentiation. The hematopathology indicates that this is an acute myeloid leukemia of the M5 subtype with monocytoid blasts.
