Comment on this image collection: There is an increase in marrow cellularity for a patient of this age. There is a complete infiltration of the bone marrow by a homogeneous blast population. These blasts are small with basophilic cytoplasm and contain no Auer rods. The blasts do not appear to be of myeloid origin.
Morphologically and cytochemically, this case might be an acute myeloid leukemia of M0 subtype or an acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
